Insulin Resistance

Carbohydrates especially the refined ones (think of white foods!) quickly turn to sugar in our bodies, causing our pancreas to release insulin which tells our bodies to either use the sugar/glucose as fuel for energy or store it as FAT. So eating too much of the wrong kind of carbs too often during the day means our pancreas is overworked. Eventually it does not respond properly – insulin resistance. If the problem continues it may lead to type 2 diabetes.
